To help set a good intention for this event, Elders and Indigenous youth from the USask community came together to choose a meaningful name for USask's Indigenous Student Experience Day. The name that was chosen was piihtikway in Michif and pihtikwe tawāw in Cree, which translate as, "Come in; you are welcome here."

About

Join us for an amazing day introducing you to life at the University of Saskatchewan (USask) as an Indigenous student! This day is all about connecting, learning, and having fun together.

This event will spark your curiosity about post-secondary education through hands-on activities, interactive spaces, and opportunities to connect with Elders and Knowledge Keepers, faculty, staff, and current Indigenous students.

You’ll be able to build your familiarity with campus, learn about diverse pathways into university, and create positive memories that can help you envision yourself at USask.

Indigenous Student Experience Day is geared toward Saskatchewan Métis, First Nations, and Inuit high school students (primarily Grades 9–12). Parents, guardians, teachers and counsellors are also welcome!
