Tanya Elliott
Oyateki Program CoordinatorTanya is a proud member of Mattagami First Nation in Treaty 9 Territory where she was born and raised. Raised by her grandmother, Tanya developed a strong sense of devotion for Indigenous rights at an early age, she often accompanied her grandmother on her work as a leader and advocate for Indigenous children. This life experience has given her a deep appreciation for how Indigenous ways of knowing can improve and change systems to advantage Indigenous people. As a team member of OVIPIE, this sense of devotion is unwavering. Tanya is the Oyateki Program Coordinator with the Office of the Vice Provost Indigenous Engagement. Her work within Oyateki Partnership connects Indigenous students to wrap-around support designed to uplift and create a nurturing environment for Indigenous student success.
